Driving While Suspended Charge Downgraded

Traffic Court Attoneys in South JerseyYesterday, our firm  achieved another good result for one of our clients in municipal court.  The client was charged with driving while suspended in  Hammonton, New Jersey. The charge arose out of an alleged incident that occurred in 2009. Our client failed to make the original court date nearly 3 years ago and a warrant was issued for his arrest. The firm became involved a few months ago when we entered our appearance in Hammonton on behalf of our client. We were able to get the warrant vacated so that our client did not fear being arrested while his court date was pending. Next we are able to help our client get his driving privileges restored in New Jersey. This ultimately led to the prosecutor agreeing to downgrade the driving while suspended charge to a failure to possess a documents when operating a motor vehicle. This is a much lesser charge that only involves a lesser fine as opposed to the Driving While Suspended penalty which includes, a fine, a further suspension of the defendants driving   privilege in New Jersey and a potential jail term. What is important about this result is not only the reduction of fines, the elimination of the potential for jail, and a further loss of license, but also the restoration of the driving privilege. In obtaining this result, we made sure our client would not be in jeopardy for further arrest or criminal prosecution for driving a car in New Jersey.  Our client can now drive to and from work without fear of being stopped and/or cited for driving while suspended.
