Trek Bicycles Equipped with Front Disc Brakes Recalled Due to Crash Hazard

Serious injuries result from poor bicycle design.

Defective Trek Bike On Tuesday, April 21, 2015 the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a recall for Trek bicycles equipped with front disc brakes.  These bicycles that have an open quick release lever on the front wheel hub can be extremely dangerous.  The front wheel hub can come into contact with the front disc brake assembly, causing the front wheel to come to a sudden stop or separate from the bicycle. You can read the entire CPSC Trek Bicycle recall by clicking here.

Serious Injuries

There have been several severe injuries as a result of this dangerous bicycle. The CPSC is reported three injuries that are directly related to the defect in the bicycle.
